Ehrenfried was trained under the tutelage of Rudolf Steiner. He worked in the field of agriculture at a time when farmers on the continent were beginning to recognise soil and crop deterioration, in spite of the mineral fertilisers based on the Liebig Theory. It was Dr Steiner’s feeling of urgency which intensified Dr Pfeiffer’s efforts. This wonderful booklet presents a small segment of knowledge of living plants: how they grow and what they reveal about soil health. Ehrenfriend Pfeiffer wrote this booklet in the 1950s, so some information is out-of-date; nevertheless, no other book contains the overview which the author has brought to the subject.
