Water is rapidly becoming the crisisarea that most directly affects all Australians. Water: Histories, Cultures, Ecologies provides a mutidisciplinary exploration of issues relating to water and its management. The book has been developed following a successful international symposium held at The University of Western Australia in July 2003, where participants from government and various academic disciplines examined case studies from around the world. Contributors include the Chief Scientist of Israel, the Chairman of the Western Australia Environmental Protection Authority and scholars in ecology, history, anthropology, geography, limnology, Indigneous studies and political economy.
